Pepper Creek is a subdivision on the west side of Valparaiso, Indiana. There are two sections. The first section includes about 25 homes on lots that are two acres or larger. These homes are large, luxury homes valued at the top 10% of Valparaiso real estate. Development of the subdivision began in 2009. The second section is named Pepper Cove.
Pepper Cove features many two and three bedroom homes on small lots. These are essentially patio homes. These homes are being built targeting home buyers age 55+. Pepper Cove homes are very new, and the subdivision is still being built out.
Pepper Creek and Pepper Cove offer their residents great quality of life. Both developments feature sidewalks and curbs which makes going for a walk easier.
Pepper Creek was designed intentionally to give each home a very large lot. Due to this, there are only about 25 homes in the subdivision. Another effect of this is there are not really any amenities in the subdivision. Instead, homeowners have the space to add whichever amenities they would like to their own property.
Pepper Cove also does not offer any amenities. However, it is very close to Valparaiso where a person can find everything he or she needs for entertainment, dining, and recreation.
Valparaiso, Indiana was recently ranked the 11th Safest City in Indiana and consistently is ranked high on the list. Valparaiso’s property and violent crime rates are far below both the state and national averages. Valparaiso is all around a very safe community.
Valparaiso residents have many career opportunities due to their city’s central location in a major population area. Pepper Creek students attend Valparaiso Community Schools. Valparaiso Community Schools is an award winning school district with above average test scores and an above average number of students attending college immediately after graduation.
As a Class 5A school, high schools students have a robust selection of athletic, academic, and extracurricular opportunities. The Valparaiso mascot is the Viking and is the name of the sports teams including the Valparaiso football team.
Elementary aged students living in Pepper Creek attend Memorial Elementary School less than 5 minutes from the subdivision. Middle school students attend Benjamin Franklin Middle School about 6 minutes from the subdivision. High school students attend Valparaiso high school located in about 7 minutes from Pepper Creek.
There are no public transportation stops in Pepper Creek. However, Valpariaso does have some public transportation options. Additionally, Pepper Creek residents have close access to the interstates.
Pepper Creek’s location on the west side of Valparaiso makes it faster and easier to get out to the interstates leading to Chicago, Michigan, or eastern Indiana.
Pepper Creek residents can easily reach the South Shore Line, too. Both the Dune Park Train Station in Chesterton and the Ogden Dunes Train Station in Portage are 20 minutes from Pepper Creek. Valparaiso residents can also take the Chicago Dash bus which travels to Chicago Monday through Friday. Pepper Creek residents are about 10 minutes from this bus stop.
Pepper Creek is a great subdivision for people seeking privacy, who can afford to add their own amenities to their property, want to be in a great school district and close to a progressive thriving city like Valparaiso. Additionally, Pepper Creek is within range to make a daily commute to Chicago.
The homes in Pepper Cove are a fantastic housing option for senior citizens. The homes are small, and have small yards. This is a low maintenance community. Some parts are even zero maintenance because the HOA takes care of everything.
Pepper Creek is an outstanding subdivision. The homes there are custom built, elaborate houses in a private subdivision. The lot size gives you ample room between neighbors.
