Mistwood is a subdivision built on the west side of Valparaiso. The primary builder in the neighborhood was and still is Olthof Homes. The neighborhood was built in several phases. The third and final phase is being completed now. In total, there will be about 150 houses in this development.

Residents can also commute using the South Shore Commuter Rail Line. The nearest station is about 15 minutes from Mistwood.
